Comments : Tried out new solomons today, got to about 9 mile before I got the newbe blisters. Amazed at how close to the ground you feel with the more minimalistic Brooks. The last 5 miles felt great, like I had new legs. Also ran through a lightning storm today which I have to say slowed me down a bit. Heavy rain from about 7 mile on. Overall good day, felt strong.

Nice low HR towards end of run.
ReplyDelete"Felt Strong" keep that thought ans avoid temptation to push the paces for now, plenty of chance for that in other days runs
Minamilstic shoes are good for softer surfaces but for longer runs during the base phase I would wear a more cushioned shoe just as ther will be a lot of impact from running on hard surfaces and try to avoid any possible impact injuries.
No harm to wear the lighter shoe in shorter sesisons later in schedule.For new shoes a good idea is to mark them with the date you bought them and record miels in diary.general guide is to change every 500 miles.
